Nein, er meint das gesamte Kombi-Instrument "KI", er nennt es Kontroll-Instrument.

Die vielen Lötstellen im KI kannst du hier in einem FAQ Beitrag sehen, wo ein sporadischer Ausfall des Tachos repariert wird.

Im KI von deinem V8 gibt es ja viele Fehler wie die schreibst:

wenn ich zuendung an mache leuchtet auf tacho Gaenge auswahl so halb hell.

Schreib mal, ob deine Fehler alle plötzlich gleichzeitig auftraten oder ob einzeln nach und nach. Erzähl mal, was du kurz vor dem Auftreten der Fehler am V8 "gebastelt / geschraubt" hast. Vielleicht gibt es da einen Zusammenhang.
