this is described in the FAQ - read here . Here`s a rough english translation:

1.) jack up car in front

2.) remove lower engine cover (the plastic shroud around the oil pan)

3.) remove the three allen screws at the the top of the grill insert with a long allen screwdriver between radiator grille and engine block from down below.

4.) locate the three screws that hold the grill insert at the bottom – since these are covered by a sheet of metal, you’d have to drill holes through that first

5.) remove the three allen screws at the the bottom of the grill insert with a long allen screwdriver

6.) remove the plastic grill insert. Now you can see the clamping mechanism that holds the hood close.

7.) Press the clamping brackets together on both sides – pop – there you go…

Experienced people with long, small and FLEXIBLE fingers/hands could be able to do this without needing to remove the grille insert first.
