Hello everyone. I posted a little while back about having trouble starting my V8. Since then I got a compression reading, and it was extremely low in cylinder one.
Since then, the heads have been completely rebuilt, with everything measured and within spec, with new seals.
I have also taken the block apart. It has been honed, and lapped, like an alusil block should be.
A set of new piston rings was ordered from Deves Piston Rings in Las Vegas.
Because getting OEM main bearings and connecting rod bearings was both extremely expensive, and took way too much time, I ordered a set of bearings the same size with the locating tabs in different places from Scott at Advanced Automotion in Texas.
The block was machined for the locating tabs for the main bearings.
The problem is with the connecting rod bearings. I was given two measurements for possible rod bearings
yellow 1.396-1.401 blue 1.401-1.406
I asked my machine shop to measure them, and we determined I need blue ones.
The porblem with the ones I received is that the crush on each bearing is 200/1000ths of an inch, which is way too much.
What are my options for connecting rod bearings. Does anyone know the exact measurements? So I can find a set here in the states?
