v8 idiling

as the fuel level gets low , the car cuts out at rest, went to fill up and lots of vacum in the tank ,so assuming the tank vent is blocked, so the car will not idle as the fuel level drops, and the recent hot weather seems to be making it worse, fuel pump?
its got plenty of grunt whilst its going , any thoughts ??
